APA Hotel Yamagata Tsuruoka Ekimae

Very convenient to both bus and train station. Food shops, souvenir shops, visitor's center, mall and restaurants nearby. Basic comfortable room with a view. Clean, refrigerator, comfortable beds. Great breakfast. Tsuruoka Yamagata is a great part of Japan to explore. From here, you can go to Sakata, to Mt. Haguro and the Dewa Sanzan, or take a train to Atsumi Onsen on the coast and on to Niigata or Sado Island. You can also go north to Akita and Aomori. It's a place you can see more of "real Japan" . Tsuruoka has a lot to offer, with interesting antique and thrift shops, amazing museums and temples, groundbreaking architecture, renowned food (UNESCO gastronomy designation). You can arrive by train, plane or bus, if you don't have a car. There are travel agents, if you want assistance.

All workers were very helpful will all kinds of issue (from minor, like accidently locked door to the room, to bigger, like a need to have an invoice).

The whole vibe of the room was conducive for a solo traveller that didn't need much attention. Facilities quality was decent for the cost. Seriously no complaints, it's wonderful
